Classifications Guidelines (PG)
Parental Guidence.
General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children:
Any child can watch this film even if they are not accompanied by an adult. A 'PG' film should not upset a child under the age of 7/8, but if the parent thinks it will upset them then they are advised to watch it with them.
Discrimination:
Discriminatory language or behaviour is not acceptable unless clearly disapproved of or in an educational or historical context. Discrimination by a character with which children can readily identify is not acceptable.
Drugs:
References to the use of drugs must carry a suitable anti-drug message to the youngsters.
Horror:
Frightening sequences should not be intense. Fantasy settings may be a mitigating factor.
Imitable behaviour:
No detail of dangerous behaviour that children are likely or want to copy. And not to show easy access of weapons.
Language:
Mild bad language only.
Nudity:
Natural nudity. No sexual context.
Sex:
Sexual activity may be implied, but should be discreet and infrequent.
Theme:
Where more serious issues are featured (for example, domestic violence) nothing in their treatment should condone unacceptable behaviour.
Violence:
Moderate violence with no detail included, should be allowed, if justified by its context (for example, history, comedy or fantasy).
